Private Internet Access is a great budget option as far as VPN’s go. Hard to find anything cheaper, but definitely no frills and not that fast.

This VPN service has by FAR the best price of any out there. they use a Blowfish cypher so the data is extremely secure. on top of that, I have found that there is very little bandwidth overhead (<5% in the same country or <10% if connecting to a country overseas). The windows client is very easy to use and the support is fantastic

I highly recommend trying a month and then switching to a year when you love it.

Just started up with you guys due to good reviews and I have yet to receive a copyright infringement notice so, so far so good!!!!! The speeds vary quite a bit depending on which location you connect to but overall, a GOLDEN VPN soluction! I wish the speeds were a little faster but for true anonyminity, what more could you ask for. I would rather download something SAFE rather than fast and get caught. Just my 2 cents. Most of the stuff I download through torrent is business related so I need it to go fast as I want to pump out my web pages so I can paid!!!!!!!!! and it helps to distribute company files to employeed so all of our code is up to day. KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK! You JUST MIGHT have made a life long customer! Thanks again for the opportunity.
    Sincerely yours,
    Anthony Brochu

One more thing I would like to add is that the speeds seem to be improving over time so I anxiously await the future and what it holds for private internet access. Our freedom of speech and online privacy should be protected at all times. Keep up the GREAT work!

I tried this and it worked great for a few weeks. However, I still got an email from Verizon about downloading despite using the VPN. I soon cancelled it. This VPN disconnects randomly and you don’t know until your ISP disconnects your service or sends you one of their emails. I’m looking for something else now. Hide My Ass is bullshit too. They cancelled me after receiving complaints and its not like I’m downloading kiddie porn. Its over tv shows I missed and trying to catch up on that’s not on demand and the occasional album. Music sucks now so there isn’t much I download only past albums. I just want a secure VPN and can’t find one.

pia failed me time and time again when I wanted to send private emails
I’ld turn it on and go over to email, type & send email
return to my desktop and it was off when I sent the email. it can’t be trusted. it just turns itself off all the time.
it must have a secret deal with the government too. when you hover above the desktop icon it displays the ip address so government can see it anyway then lock on to you. there is nothing reliable or secure about pia.
if you want to get busted fast then rely on pia

This has to be the worst VPN service I have used. Constantly disconnects. I have kill switch active but it doesn’t work. When it disconnects it still has internet access through your ISP IP. Completely worthless. I usually end up just stopping the service so I can browse online.

It works great if you can stay connected long enough to do anything.

Suddenly and without any provided reason my service was cut off.
They claim I failed to pay but forwarded them a copy of my pre-approved payment from paypal.

Am currently in arbitration with them via paypal

I tried Private Internet Access VPN in 2017 because it appeared to be the most robust solution for router-based OpenVPN DD-WRT client. However, at that time, it did not support VoIP phone modems. This fact was determined after several weeks of working with the Private Internet Access VPN technicians. Disappointing – and recommended only for those /*without*/ VoIP behind their DD-WRT rouiter.
